Mental Clearing

7.31.2014

The youngest and I will be leaving in about an hour to spend the day at the beach. Chairs, towels, sunscreen, umbrella, a fully charged cell (so I can take more Instagram shots than are necessary) the latest Vogue / Cosmo / Self, sandwiches, grapes, cookies, chips and lots of spring water are packed and ready to go.

Trips to the ocean tend to center a person, something we both need as our already fast paced lives are about to gain even more momentum.

New Mantra

7.21.2014

Last weekend I had a close call (too longwinded to go into). As it was happening I thought to myself:  I am way too bad ass to be taken down like this.

And I landed on my feet.

That's my new mantra, it applies to any kind adversity. So far it's working.

Thoughts

The beautiful East Coast. (No, the little old lady isn't me.)

As of today I am going to stop worrying about my age, life is challenging enough without waisting energy dreading the inevitable.

Don't get me wrong, I still plan on combating the (aging) process but I want to do it organically. I don't want to stress over the grays that are starting to sprout (fortunately, they are very few) and I most definitely do not want to resort to fillers (makes people look weird)...

I want to be the kind of woman that snacks on apples and leafy greens, drinks tons of water and sips herbal tea. Who runs at sunrise and does hot yoga in the evenings, who still has beautiful skin and a subtle appeal even at 40 something. I want to look and feel healthy.

Even more so, I want to be happy...

Summer Style

7.11.2014

After what seemed like an eternity of stalking Etsy and Ebay I finally scored 3 pairs of gently used Dr. Scholls original sandals for less than the price of one pair brand new. These babies take me back to my youth!
